20 YEARS JUBILEE
(2nd March 1989 - 2nd March 2009)

2nd March 2009 was the 20th anniversary of founding F. Liszt Society in Wroclaw. It was celebrated by the jubilee concert in the W. Lutoslawski Philharmonic Concert Hall in Wroclaw, with recital of Janusz Olejniczak - one of the most outstanding contemporary Polish artists. The concert, subsidised by the Commune of Wroclaw, was executed in cooperation with the Philharmonic. Janusz Olejniczak's recital followed an occasional speech by the President of TiFL. All the interested were given TiFL's Information Bulletin devoted to 20th Anniversary of the Society. The audience, who awarded the soloist with standing ovation, experienced unusual artistic emotions, and the public opinion was informed about TiFL's activity, reasons for establishing the Society in Wroclaw and about the care and support of authorities and different institutions. Following the concert, there was a meeting of TiFL's members with guests. The president received congratulations and thanks stressing TiFL's credits.
Thanks to local authority's initiative, the "Liszt Evenings" in March (including Janusz Olejniczak's recitals) in Brzeg, Oborniki Śląskie and in Trzebnica had also a form of jubilee celebrations. F. Liszt Society, as a first association, was granted the Medal of the City of Brzeg "Bene Meriente"; congratulations and credits were sent by Mayors and other representatives of the cities that host our concerts, Karol Lipiński Society in Włoszakowice and Izabela Bojkowska - Honorary Member of TiFL and the initiator of founding the Society.
There was a wide press coverage of the Jubilee in Wrocław, Oborniki Śląskie, Trzebnica and in Warsaw. The Regional Cultural Magazine "Co jest grane" devoted its cover and inside cover to TiFL's anniversary.v First twenty years of our activity resulted in 862 concerts, 32 courses and 8 competitions, hosting more than 2200 musicians representing 40 countries. International F. Liszt Piano Competitions and International Master Piano Courses in Wroclaw won international recognition. By promoting a significant number of young talented artists, TiFL contributed towards Polish music life and is noticeable on international arena.
It would not be possible without kindness, cooperation and help of many people, authorities, institutions and companies. We greatly appreciate the help and hope for further commitment.
